Andrey studied at Moscow State University in Russia, where he received a MS degree in zoology. His MS thesis was focused on developing methodology for potential habitat modeling of the Saker Falcon. Afterwards Andrey worked with conservation teams helping protect the landscapes and biodiversity in the North and the Far East of Russia. Most recently he worked at the World Wildlife Foundation. His areas of focus are forest conservation, creation of protected areas, and conservation of rare species of Tiger and other cats and owls in Asian Russia. Throughout his career, Pooh has participated in projects mapping forest cover changes at the global and national levels.
